In line with EUIPO’s efforts to strengthen engagement with User Associations in international cooperation activities, we are pleased to invite members of your User Association to an online Workshop on Mediation in Intellectual Property (IP) Disputes, taking place on 30 October, from 09:00 to 12:00 CET.

The workshop is organised by the EUIPO under the EU–Japan Intellectual Property Action (EU–Japan IPA), in cooperation with the Japan Intellectual Property Arbitration Center (JIPAC). It will bring together experts from Europe and Japan to discuss the role of mediation and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in IP disputes.

The programme will feature speakers from the EUIPO Mediation Centre, JIPAC, the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the Unified Patent Court Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (UPC PMAC) and Academia. Discussions will explore current developments, challenges and best practices in IP mediation, while highlighting the benefits of ADR as a flexible and efficient tool for resolving cross-border IP disputes.

Through expert presentations and interactive exchanges, the workshop will offer a valuable opportunity to share experiences and identify areas for closer EU–Japan cooperation in the field of IP mediation.
